Unity University Academy (UU-A) is a private school established in August 2011. It is affiliated with Unity University, a pioneering higher education institution in Ethiopia, and provides quality education at Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary levels. UU-A is recognized for its strong ethical foundation, accelerated national curriculum, optimal class sizes, individualized attention, and a nurturing learning environment.

UU-A operates three branches located in Gerji (Addis Ababa), Adama, and Burayu (Oromia Region).
All branches feature spacious playgrounds, well-furnished libraries, and well-equipped computer and chemistry laboratories.
I. Major Purpose of General Education
Privately owned general education schools in Ethiopia exist to:

II. Major Functions of General Education
- Implement the national curriculum set by the Ministry of Education.
- Enrich learning through supplementary materials, digital tools, and innovative pedagogy.
- Promote proficiency in English and local languages to support communication skills.
- Integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education and encourage problem-solving and creativity.
- Offer guidance and counseling services to address students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Ensure access to co-curricular activities such as sports, music, art, debate, and clubs to encourage talent development.
- Support students with special needs through inclusive education practices where possible.
- Recruit qualified, trained, and motivated teachers who meet national standards.
- Provide professional development (CPD) through in-house training, workshops, and exposure to best practices.
- Establish systems for teacher supervision, mentoring, and performance appraisal to maintain quality teaching.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate teaching–learning processes to ensure alignment with national standards.
- Use formative and summative assessments to track student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare students for national examinations (Grade 8, Grade 10, and Grade 12) with structured support and remedial programs.
- Establish a clear governance structure with school owners, board members, principals, and parent–teacher associations.

Primary Schools
Our Primary Schools cater to Grades 1–8, offering a well-rounded curriculum that enhances students’ knowledge, skills, attitudes, and moral values. The schools in Oromia Region offer classes in both Amharic and Afan Oromo.
The national curriculum is followed across all subjects, which include: Amharic, English, Mathematics, Science/Social Studies, Physical Education, Ethical Education, and Art. Additionally, students in Grades 1–6 receive Afan Oromo language lessons. The Primary School also features excellent playground facilities.
The structure of the Primary School includes:
- Primary Level (Grades 1–6)
- Middle School Level (Grades 7–8)
Secondary School
Our Secondary School is located exclusively at the Burayu campus. The UU-Academy Secondary School includes Grades 9–12.
- Grades 9 and 10 follow the regional curriculum, covering core subjects such as Amharic, Afan Oromo, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Economics, Geography, History, Civics, ICT, and Physical Education.
- Grades 11 and 12 offer two specialized streams: Natural Sciences and Social Sciences, with both streams covering nine foundation subjects.
The Secondary School features spacious playgrounds, excellent classrooms, and state-of-the-art computer and chemistry laboratories.
Teaching Methods
Our teachers employ a variety of student-centered teaching approaches to enhance engagement and learning. These methods include teamwork, individual study, hands-on activities, field trips, and lab-based learning. Students are also encouraged to integrate technology and digital resources into their studies.
Extra-Curricular Activities

Admission Requirements
UU-A admits eligible students into its Pre-Primary (KG), Primary, and Secondary Schools. Prospective students (except those applying for Pre-Primary levels) are required to take an entrance exam and attend an interview as part of the admission process. The selection process ensures that admitted students possess the academic capabilities necessary to succeed in a rigorous academic program.

The admission form must be accompanied by:
- Two passport-size photos of the student
